Re:knock sensor harness 1996 i30T

Hi Chuck. My daughters 1996 I30T Infiniti gave me the knock sensor code P0325.I replaced it.It took me awhileand got my jand scratched up with the sharp edges of the engine, but got the job done. However,I broke the knock sensor wiring harness cause it was stuck.I mean stuck. It had a white powder on it! Like white dust stuck to it.I called my infiniti dealer and asked for that part number and was given this OEM part# 24079-31u01/I asked for the price and the parts department manager said it costs $115.00,but they didnt have it. I called a different Infiniti dealer and asked the same question and was given this quote $2000.00.I was blown away!By the way,the infiniti parts department guy were not to sure on their answers.I was put on hold on and off. ..........SHEEEEEEEEEEEEESH!!Where can I get this part at a reasonable price? What is the OEM part number.Or should I try a salvage yard? Thanks, mobfather

The dealer is messing with you, or the parts guy just doesn't know the wire is not integral to the main harness. Check with Courtesy Nissan. They sell the wire with the sensor as a package. Tell them its for a '96 Maxima. When you put it back in there, connect the wire to it before you put it in & find a girl to thread the bolt back in for you - tiny hands are the order of the day with this thing.
