timing belt 1990 Frontirer V-6

How hard is it to replace the timing belt on a 1990 Frontier, V-6?? Any special tool, should you do the water pump or other parts while you are there? Have done my Miata a couple of times with no issues. Just wanting to get any ideas or suggestions. thanks.

Google for the factory service manual and it will be quite helpful. Here is one link that appears to have what you need:

I have to do my belt next year. It is also a 2000 Frontier. I'm not really looking forward to it. I previously had an '85 Hardbody on which I replaced the belt and it was just time consuming but not difficult. The minor engine changes since then have made the bypass hose virtually inaccessible so plan on replacing it along with any badly corroded water pipes that you can only access during the timing belt replacement.

Several sources sell "kits" with all of the parts normally needed including the water pump. For example, see:

I would stick with the original Nissan parts. Some of the after-market stuff is real junk and you don't want to do the job twice.
