I just purchased the Titan LS King Cab....could not be happier! Fuel economy is a bit to get adjusted to, otherwise...it is awesome. I test drove the Ford, was really dissapointed, but liked the GMC 2500HD...but it too has fuel economy problems. The truck rides great....has a lot of amenities....I wish I had gotten the package that has the mapping and GPS stuff however....also, you will definately want to get the tow package, gives you some things that otherwise do not come with it. The LS has the leather, side step bars, blah blah....! This is the first time I have bought a new vehicle in 20+ years...and glad I did my homework. It made 4X4 truck of the year and I believe Road and Track made it #1 as well. Not bad for something brand new off the assembly line.

I'm new here. I mainly wanted to see if there were any topics on the Titan yet. I went to the Auto Show here in Houston, Texas last night and after 6 hours of looking at vehicles I was impressed mostly with the Titan truck and with the Chrysler Pacifica which is a car. I was really impressed by all the detail and extra thought put into the design of the Titan. One of the innovations I was really impressed with were the bed tracks in the rail and the deck. The deck was already lined at the factory which was a plus. However, I wondered at the durability as it didn't look too thick. There are a number of accessories available from the manufacturer for these rails and, I thought, it wouldn't be too long before the aftermarket industry would be adding things. The ONE BIG item I disliked was the location of the oil filter. It is located in the front of the engine, on the bottom, under the belts. If you have the skid plate package, you have to remove the skid plate in order to change the filter. This is a thumb on your noise attitude to the customer that the manufacturer doesn't think the owner responsible to change his own oil. The techs say it is a move towards making the customer "come in" to get the oil changed. I don't believe I want to pay top dollar to change my oil and I don't care to trust a lube shop to put that skid plate back in right. This is going to be a customer or aftermarket change coming down the line. With so much thought put into customer convenience, the oil filter location is a step backwards. This attitude causes me to be skeptical towards the rest of the truck. What else could be waiting for me in the future, should I buy this truck, that Nissan doesn't want me to work on? Overall, this truck was the best overall package, I thought. That oil filter just bothers me. I guess you can tell. :o)

Hey, I'm not in a big hurry. I currently own a 20 year old Toyota

4x-pick-up. I don't have brand loyalties. I go with what works. I would like to have a new truck, but the prices are pretty steep. It just galls me. But it looks bad when I show up on a job site driving an old truck.

Isn't it just a couple of bolts that you have to undo on the plate. Then you have access to the filter. The location of the filter is great, I think. Right up front and low. No need to crawl under the middle of the truck. which I have to do on my ram 1500. I change my own also. I am trading the ram in hopefully this week. Titan wasn't out when I bought the Ram. I would undo a couple bolts and have the filter close to the end of the truck. You only have to go under there 4 times a year.

I am just curious because I have had a Toyota that I can change from the top. However, it is not a v-8. Don't you still have to crawl under the middle to pull the plug? Is the drain plug also in the front so that you do not have to crawl into two different places? I'm a do it yoreself kinda truck owner. But I don't have one of those nice pits to walk under the truck with.

I bought my titan on 12/30 and could not have been happier....until I started having brake problems. After 4k miles stepping on the brake was a rude case of the shimmies. I took it back to the dealer and they resurfaced the disks and installed new pads. Now I have 10400 miles and the vibrations are back worse than ever. I took it back to the dealer and they are out of stock on any new disks or pads until 6/2. In the meantime I continue to drive a truck that is getting worse by the mile. I told the service people that other people have told me that bearings can go bad and U joints and others may need to be replaced by 6/2. We'll see how responsive the service people are in june

does it tell you something if the dealer runs out of disk brake materials?
