hopefully someone can offer some assistance
I have a 92 maxima GXE (sohc) that seems to have a problem with only 1 of the cylinders firing. I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, AND just recently my alternator fried, so it is brand new also. I located the cylinder that is running poorly, but haven't got a clue as to why this one isn't firing. you can actually take the wire off the distributor, and see the spark jumping, when it is close, but it runs the same when taken away, and not allowed to spark. If you do this with any other cylinder, it immediately runs worse (of course, because now 2 cylinders are not firing) it seems to run better before the engine has warmed up, and runs fairly smoothly at higher rpm. It just has a slightly rough idle, and hesitates a little on acceleration.
hopefully i've given clear enough info, and someone has an idea i haven't tried.
