another maxima immobilizer issue

I opened my 93 maxima today and the alarm started going off. it happened before and after about an hour i could start it. today, however i have waited for more then an hour and it still wouldnt start, and everytime i open the door the alarm goes off again. Since it's labor day and i'm stuck in a motel parking lot in spring-something, colorado i don't have a lot of options but to try deal with the problem myself. one techician that i've spoke to told me to unhook the battery and leave it like this for 2 hours until the computer memory will be erased, then put the key in the ignition ON, nad then rehook the battery. if someone has any idea what should i do that would be greatly apprecciated HAPPY LABOR DAY!!

Open all the windows. Lock, then unlock the car from the remote. Then manually make sure all the doors are fully unlocked. May or may not help. Good luck!

I had a 92 max SE. the 3rd gen did not use an imobilizer chip, just a std alarm and ignition kill. If the alarm is going off, the car will not start. (pulling the horn or fuse will silence the alarm, but the car will still not start).

in my car, unlocking the driver side door with the key deactivated the alarm & allows the car to start..

3rd gen did not come with a factory remote...

FYI, Jim None of the J30 (89-94) series Maxima had a remote.

try this,

make sure all the doors are closed.

next use the key or if equipped the keyless entry pad to lock all the doors.

wait 1 minute for the system to arm, then use the KEY in the DRIVERS door to unlock ALL doors, this will take 2 movements of the key, once for the drivers door and again for the remainder of the doors. then get in and see if it will start.
