I do it all the time on my cars. Basic tools, including a decent SAE + metric socket set, plus:
- Have a 1/2" ratchet and a 1/2" bar plus 1/2" to 3/8" adaptor, will come in handy.
- You'll need a sizeable C-clamp for the front wheels
- You'll need a special tool to turn the rear wheels' pistons
Sounds special, but they're not - you can find them at any decent automotive hardware store. Pretty cheap, $60 - $70 tops for the complete set.
The rear caliper tool is $10-12, available at any auto parts store. You might try turning the calipers [clockwise] with needle-nosed pliers instead, but I broke the tip off a pair trying to do that.
The C-clamp is probably $5 or less; it can be very low quality (doesn't really put on much pressure), but has to have a 5-inch span or so, to get around the caliper assembly.
The other tools, you should buy anyway for general purposes.
