code number for digital entry system

I just bought a cherry '94 to replace my '92 (440K running great, but 2nd tranny on way out). How do I find the code number that lets me re-program the keypad buttons on the doors. Went to the dealer and the parts dept guy said he didn't know how! The service guy leaned over when the parts guy went to cut a key and said there's a number in the vicinity of the rear speaker in the trunk. Really bizarre, like he didn't want to get caught offering advice, or something. Anyhow, I looked when I got home and I don't see any numbers other than the part #'s for the speakers. Nothing stamped on the body that I could see. Appreciate any help.

get a flashlight and look under the dash on the right side of the car. you'll see a gold colored box... it'll be against the inside of the fender wall, beside the glovebox. It will have a bunch of numbers typed on a sticker.. I believe it's the middle number, starting with F or something. write that number down.. there should be 6 or 7 digits in the number part of it. (ignore the letters)

now get back out of the car and hit the CLR button on the keypad... then punch in the numbers from the code into the keypad. when it's done, it'll make a long constant beeping sound. now enter the NEW code you want. it has to be at least 3 or 4 digits, can be up to 7 or 9 or something... can't be consecutive numbers or the same one or anything like that. when you're done punching in the number, stop pushing buttons and just let it sit for a few seconds.. it will continue beeping for a short while (10-30 seconds, I forget), then a bunch of short beeps.. after that, the new code is entered.

lock and close the doors, then wait a few seconds for the system to think.. hit the CLR button and then enter your new code on the keypad. when you finish, it should unlock the doors, roll down the front windows with the WDW button, and pop the trunk with the TRK (or whatever) button.

I've seen another note that says the sticker is behind the glove box (remove it to see it...)

Another note says it's in the trunk on the pre 1989 models. (but you have a

1994).

My Maxima has the keyless Digital Touch Entry System, but I don't know the code. How do I set it and operate it?

Ok first get a flashlight and, if your back is stiff, someone more flexible. Open the front passenger door and slide the seat back. Get on your back and with the flash light, look up under the dash, toward your left (this would be on the door's side of the dash). You should see a brass colored box with a wire harness and wires attached to it. You might see a label that says "Digital Touch Entry Control Unit" or something like that. You should also see two or three lines of code on the label. One of the lines should begin with the letter "S". Record the last 7 NUMBERS on that line, that's the master key number (well it should be).

Now, wiggle out of the car and shut the door. Press the button labeled "C"/"ST", where "C" is on the top and "ST" is on the bottom. Now enter the seven digit master key and you should hear a constant tone sound, during this period, enter a 5 to 7 digit entry key, this cannot match the master key. There also cannot be three digits in a row that use the same button, I.E. 909xxx or something like that. After you've entered the code, wait for the tone to stop, press "LCK"/"9|0" to lock the doors (HAVE A KEY READY JUST IN CASE YOUR CODE DOESN'T WORK). Now press "C"/"ST" and enter your new code, the doors should unlock.
