Fuel injector problem?

My '92 maxima idles perfectly, but above 2500 rpm or so it is out of power. It sort of "pulses" at a steady rate if I hold the accelerator down while idling. Engine is good (good compression etc). Fuel injector problem?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

nope.

Air flow meter problem, the vehicle is in fail safe that's why you have a pulsating rev @ 2500 rpm.

The problem is with the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF). This sensor measures the rate of flow of air entering the engine. It sends this information to the Engine Control Module (ECM, the engine computer). If the MAF is not sending correct signals to the ECM, the ECM limits the engine speed to 2500 RPM as a safety measure.

Do a google search on Mass Airflow Sensor.

Check all leads on MAF for poor contact.

See maxima.org for info on MAF repair/rplacement.

Also, try car-part.com to find a used one to replace it with. Oh, and before that, try un-plugging it, cleaning the contacts, then putting it back. Maybe it's just a dirty connection. To find out where the MAF is, follow the air flow. The air flows through your air filter into the MAF, a cone shaped honey combed sensor.
