Oil Pressure

I recently bought an '87 station wagon. I had to install new struts in the rear, and probably need them up front as well. But, my question today is about the oil pressure.

The guage says the oil pressure is up around 120 psi. I suspect the sending unit is toast because the needle starts out low immediately after start, then climbs to the 120 mark after several seconds and stays there.

My assumption is that the oil pump is not physically capable of creating 120 psi, therefore there must be a problem in either the sending unit or the guage. And, in my experience, the sending unit is the more likely culprit.

Where is the sending unit on the 3.0L V6?
