This site is directed at later model Maxima's but the procedure may apply to your car:

If that doesn't work, try the forums at maxima.org

I figured it out by diving straight into the manual.... I got a code 22 under mode 3 which point to my fuel pump circuit....

Now how do I go about removing or replacing the fuel pump and where exactly is it located ?

thanks..
