Tire issue - yet again...

Hi all,

I know this issue about tires have come up again and again. But mine is little bit specific to Boston, MA area. I am moving to Boston and want to replace tires on my '02 maxima. Currently I have OEM (Bridgestone potenza), as most you have mentioned they suck in Rain/Snow, and also produce lot of road noise. I am looking for something that will generate less road noise, and also have good snow/sleet/rain tracation. Hopefully its not too much to ask for :). All your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

thanks, Jim

I have been very happy with the GoodYear RSA tires that came on my 98 Maxima Se. A few years ago I found myself 200 miles from home after a real ice and snow storm. I had no problems on city streets and highway driving getting back home. They have been great also in driving in rain.

I have the Conti Extreme Contacts on 99, big improvement in every way over OEM Goodyears, although the GY did last 50K. Check tirerack

I realize that most folks think Boston has a lot of snow, but some years it doesn't.

At any rate, I live in the area (Worcester MA) and commute to work 40 miles each way, and I don't really concern myself with snow much when I buy tires (rain is another issue). Generally, roads are kept clear and MA does a good job with that so that you will seldom encounter snow if you stick to the major travel routes or cities.
