XM radio and bose stereo compatability

I have a 2001 Maxima GLE with the Bose stereo. Are there any compatibility issues with using the XM satellite receiver that "plugs" into the cassette tape hole in the stereo? Also, any other comments from XM users will be helpful. Thanks, Greg

Haven't heard the modulator, but the cassette adaptor sounds pretty righteous to me. There is a line-out level adjustment on the Delphi receiver. Make sure you don't overdrive the Bose tape input and you should be fine.

I'm still experimenting with antenna location (2001 SE). I had it on the trunk lid, halfway between front of trunk and the spoiler. I since moved it to the front of the trunk lid (away from spoiler) and now have almost zero dropouts. I'm sure the roof would be the best, but it looks kind of fugly. The trunk location is hidden from view.

Could you translate this into plain English?

Sorry. You can adjust the voltage level the Delphi puts out - in this case to the cassette adapter. If this voltage is set too high, the tape input in the Bose can't handle it - it sounds distorted. The solution is to "lower the volume."

This adjustment is there because the XM receiver can be connected to many different devices and their requirements can vary.
