206 Brake Lights not /all/ working

My son has a '99 206 and the other day I noiced that the n/s brake light was not working. A few days later, before I could get out to buy a replacememnt bulb I noticed that neither of the main brake lights were working (high level one is OK). Got two new bulbs and went to fit them but there was definitely nothing wrong with the old ones (replaced anyway). They still didn't work. Checked forums etc and cleaned the contacts (which seemed ok anyway). Still no joy. Checked fuses 11 and

12 and they are both fine. Still only have high-level brake light working so it's all a bit dodgy. Are there any other fuses associated with brake lights (although all fuses seem fine)?

BTW what is the red rubberised button in the engine compartment behind the n/s shock absorber top?

Any suggestions???

Thanks, RB

Hi RB, I would think the red button you described is the fuel pump inertia switch, it knocks out the fuel pump in the event of an accident, HTH Fitzy

Nobody got any ideas on the lights issue? I assume they are all on teh same switch? The fuses and bulbs check out but only the high-level brake light comes on and it's bound to get spotted by Mr Plod :(
