306 D Turbo Radiator

Hi... I have to day tried to change the reaidator on the 306 D turbo (1996 P plate), but i cannot get the bottom hose back on! It looks like i need to take the bumper off, but i am sure this is not the case!!!

does anyone have any tips as i am now at the point of towing it somewhere to get it replaced!!!

Cheers

I've been here recently, there isn't a lot of room to get your hands to the bottom connector because the p/s pump and alternator are in the way. One method is, as you say, remove the bumper, but I managed to get my thin variable jaw width plumbers pliers over both connectors and gently nip them up. (This is what I mean:

) Once you've done that you can rotate the lock ring with one hand and the job should be complete. Make sure you replace the O ring while you're in there too.

Been there myself recently with my 405, I found it easier to dip the hose in brake fluid first, and then twist the clip with pipe grips as previously suggested, the brake fluid will lubricate the joint and wont damage the hose,
