Do you mean 1.9 Diesel?

Anyway, it's in the black housing on top of the thermostat (to the right of the dipstick). Four Allen Key head bolts hold the top down. Use the water bleed screw on the housing (tap thing with a pipe coming from it) to let any water and diesel out of the housing. Clean any muck out of the housing with a rag, pop the new filter in, put the cap on and tighten the bolts (but not so tight as to crack the plastic cap). Use the hand primer to the left of the engine to pump diesel through, and open the bleed nipple on the fuel pump until all air is out and pure diesel is coming through, and tighten.

I should think he means petrol! It's under the car on the driver's side just forward of the fuel tank.

I'd say he means diesel, but there is no such thing as an 1800cc Pug diesel in a 306, or is there?

Certainly not at S reg, the PSA XUD used to be 1.8 but that finished in about 92 (in the 405 & 205) when it became the 1.9, so i could believe it possible a very early 306 may end up with one somehow, but not at S reg.

Oh well. At least he has the location of both types now, whatever he's got! Haven't heard from him since though.
