If you have no fuel coming through from the filter, then it is probably the fuel lift pump in the tank. Can you hear it whirring when you turn the ignition on? Could be the pump itself has failed, or a relay supplying it with power.

See my reply to your other post. When you switch on you should be able to hear the pump in the tank running although it is quite quiet. Another possibility, although I have only experienced it with a petrol car, is that by getting low on fuel you sucked up muck from the tank bottom that caused a blockage.

no nothing, it was fine then 5 mins later nothing, not even trying, checked all fuses but not going near relay, my friend said could be relay as pumps rarely just shut down or a blockage as it was run down. cheers and you know much about air locks and whether they have a manual primer, cheers bria

had car in to have intank pump replaced, ran a dream for ten miles, then shut down. mechanic took car into peugeot for diagnostic (90 plus vat) for them to tell me its an ecu fault or a wiring problem they want £700 to replace ecu and it may not be that, then a further £4/500 to check wiring and then they cant guarantee it will run right. Please help at my wits end, found some 2nd hand ecu?s for £50ish but how do i get them programmed, manchester area and any idea how much thanks for your help and time

you take it to ?.....The trouble if you get one from a scrap yard it will be locked!.Really you need to go to a specialist to get one or get YOURS tested. They should know pretty much less in an hour what it is.If the wiring is ok, then theres a good chance its a double relay or poss e.c.u ..It wouldn't have hurt them to get one unlocked off another car at dealership to try it on yours ..after all theres a good chance they will have another edc15c2 (pre mux ecu) on site..... regards mark
