Changing Peugeot 106 petrol filter

Hi I wonder if anyone can give me a bit of advice here. I want to change the fuel filter on my 1997 106 Independence. The configuration of the couplings to the filter is different to my Haynes book which shows metal clips. I have tried to lever off the couplings but they don't want to budge and I don't want to bust anything. Pictures of the filter are here:

advice would be much appreciated.Roy

You need to press the white bit in and pull the pipe off the filter. The white part is the locking mechanism. Or gently lever the pipe off whilst pushing the white bit fully in. If it won't come off you are not pushing it in far enough! To replace just push the pipe on to the filter until it clicks in place. Test by trying to pull it off (without pushing the white bit).

Hi, Thankyou for your description....When you say push the white bit "in"...by "in" do you mean "towards the filter body" or actually "compressing it in toward the pipe"...sorry to ask but i also had problems and find that pushing the white bit toward the filter body doesnt help..unless i didnt push hard enough(?)

You press it in toward the pipe quite hard. At the same time slide the pipe off. If it won't come you are not pressing hard enough!
