front suspension 206

hi, back again!! another problem with 206 1.9d just been out to shops and back again. on my route i have to go over a lot of speed bumps, only the noise that come from the front of my car sounded awful, like a really loud heavy creeking sound. sorry to keep bugging you but being female i like to sound like i know what im talking about at the garage/dealer hope you can help. :)

Sounds like some bush on the wishbone arm, mine do it when it is dry i did the job myself removed all old bushes and replaced them. hope this helps from Chris in Addlestone Surrey,(if u live near this i can look for u.)

Hi, if chris is reading this: have you got a owners manual for your 206? i have a post further down the list (bleeping 206) if your manual suggests any thing regarding bleeps would you please let me know!

That creaking could also be the anti-roll bar rubber bushes. Quite common. If you have a spray can of WD40 you could have a look yourself, and spray the stuff onto the bushes. Then see if the noise goes away, which it will if it is them. If you look under the car just behind the front wheel, you will see a bar about 19mm diameter going across the car, connected to the front suspension. There is a rubber bush that holds it just at the back of the wheel arch, below the subframe. You should be able to recognise it. If it is these bushes, then they sound worse than they actually are. In time the rubbers will have to be changed, but no need to panic over them. If it is the bushes that Chris mentioned, then again no panic, but they ought to be looked at sooner rather than later. Certainly the more knowledgable you can appear when going to garages, the less they will try to take you for a ride. My neice had a terrible time with one place, which her brother recommended because of the good service he had always had.
