HELP ME!! 306 Clutch cable

1998 306 d'turbo bought new clutch cable. Really a bitch to fit as the turbo and AC get in the way plus the hole in the bulk head is behind the servo. Fitted it to the gearbox end and the pedal is still on the floor. Pull pedal up and cable seems about 4 inches too long and gearbox. Rang dealer who siad it was the right cable for the build code etc Any ideas?

Yep, it's a real pain to fit even on non-AC models but on the AC models it's a nightmare. I ended up just putting the old cable back on my car and got Peugeot to change it. They did it while I waited and even the mechanic there struggled.

Right, just fully read your post now. Check the clutch cable because there are two types. When I took my clutch cable to Peugeot to fit they also claimed it was the wrong one and ordered another. When that cable came in it turned out to be the wrong one and my one was right. If you can take the clutch cable out, just place it against the original and you'll know straight away.

Also, did you seat the rubber grommet properly into the bulkhead? That may be your problem.
