Help! My 307 Has Been Abducted By Aliens.

Had a few electrical gremlins with my month old 307 HDI 110 such as an Airbag failure and incorrect operation of the Central Locking, but this really takes the biscuit!

Driving home this evening, the information display flashed Minimum Fuel Additive (something to do with the FAP I guess) , it then returned to normal minus the external temp reading (--). Fine I thought as it returned to normal only to find my windscreen wipers wouldn't turn off. Half a mile up the road the passenger window then decided to wind itself down, and the stop and low oil pressure indicators started flashing randomly whilst "Airbag Fault and Low Oil Pressure" flashed on the display intermittently.

After five minutes or so everything returned to normal, except the "Airbag Fault" warning kept displaying itself more and more frequently with the Stop and Low Oil Pressure lights flickering.

Having lurked around here for a while I have read about various dashboard failures etc.. but haven't come across anything this extreme.

Does anyone know what could be the cause of this, as I thought that after 2 years Peugeot would have worked all the bugs out of this car by now?

Cheers,

Nick.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer, but I did enjoy your posting ;-) Could you have the car exorcised ? I'm not sure I'd buy a car with multiplex electrics just yet!

I've not had anything that extreme with my 307 Hdi110 but over the past few weeks the Multi function display keeps going blank apart from the temp display and clock even though a CD or the radio are playing. I have to switch the unit off and then on again to make it work properly.

I got out of the car on Friday and the Display panel stayed illuminated despite having turned the lights off and locked the car.

All very strange......

The mystery continues

ore in any case maybe faulty connected.... i had my pug workshop just now on the line and they found some debris in the multiconnector to the ecu, this caused my gremlins also had to renew the hand brake switch and the water level sensor ( salt!!!)

maybe reconnecting the ecu might just solve your problems

which will end you your married live....

Hello,

I'd disconnect battery, then BSI (should be lying around the fuse box if it's like on a 206), then replug BSI and battery, ignition on for 10s at least (from mux'd 206 handbook : if you disconnect battery or have a flat battery, put ignition on for at least 10s before attempting to start the engine, to let the electronic systems recalibrate themselves), then start. Last try : ask for a BSI replacement & software update &/or ask them to plug the Diag2000 on it to test for a wiring fault.

It's in the sick bay at the mo. I haven't asked them yet, but I reckon they are going to change the BSI as they asked me for my spare key as they said it wouldn't work again otherwise.
