parts and seals needed

Hi, I am having to repair my 307sw 1.6hdi 2004 engine after a head gasket problem. I have managed to get down to the head but am now looking for the best place to buy a few of the items. Can anyone point me in the right direction for good deals on the parts needed to complete this job. I can't find the injector seals for less than £40 which seems a lot of money for 4 small seals. (all the other injectors seals are only a couple of pounds each). Where would be the best place for getting these other than a dealer? Head gaskets are easy to find so no problem there but what about a water pump and cam belt? Thanks

Sorrry to suggest what you already tried - bit annoying! My 206 hdi 1.4 has a misfire on tickover, I did research on getting it fixed but the price of anything to do with injectors was terrific, even to find out which injector is at fault requires removing them all and going to a specialist facility to test them all.... replacemen of a single injector about £150 just for the exchange unit, labour and testing , seals etc. excluded - so I decided to live with it forever! I gather from talking to those in the test facility who seem to know, that Bosch injectors can be expected to give trouble. It seems these high efficiency diesel systems are all very well until there is a more major problem than mine with the injector system and then you lose all you have gained in buying an efficient car and possibly thensome! Next time I think high efficiency petrol would probably be a better bet.. Also when the car gets old the "is it worth repairing" calculation question may put a lot of these deisel cars prematurely on the scrap heap seeing the enormous costs of repair in test and materials, DIY even is ruled out when specialist testing is needed, replace and try probably wont work economically.

Have you tried these people. They have more than is shown on line so a phone call might be useful.

Hi Charlie, You have some very good points there. The car is becoming a real nightmare just to keep going. The slightest problem and it needs diagnostics. When the error messages come up there are always a few of them and it can always be any number of things that are faulty. they nearly always all need replacing ending with a very large bill and usually a car that is repaired for about

You can get your own general diagnostics checker/resetter, I think my Bluetooth clone cost about £12 on ebay but if you want to get the manufacturer specific info, airbags info etc that will cost lots (too much) ! I believe if the MIL light shows any action at all, it is an automatic MOT fail now? C+
