Peugeot 106 - Starting Problem

My girlfriend has a Peugeot 106 2002 1.0l model.

She has had problems with the car starting some days. When she has been away for a couple for days (like the weekend just gone), when she tries to start the car, there is nothing. No turn over at all.

The car then has to be jump started to go. In the past when she has had this, the car has been driven to the garage she uses to service and MOT the car which is about a five minute drive away, and got the battery checked over. The battery has been fine and is holding it's charge. The alternator has been checked out also.

When the problem first started, the relay box was changed over as the garage thought it might be that.

When driving along sometimes, there is a clicking noise coming from around the fuse box area. I have had a quick look at it, but cannot see anything triping at all.

Obviously this is really starting to frustrate my girlfriend, as no one seems to have a clue as to what the problem may be, and any investigative work will be expensive. She needs the cars as she has two young children and has to get to work with it.

Very grateful for any help and advise

Neil

you mention a relay.....a similar problem i had was sorted by replacing the wiper relay....it had moisture in it. i tried about a full can of wd40 however the wiper relay is under the fuse box and not visible. an auto electriacian fond the fault after 3 hours...so a £3 relay cost £103 ..so dont replace any obvious things yet....and the bad earth as suggested could take forever.

cheers.
