The brakes are the only MOT repairs I need to worry about really..Im gonna have a go at them.
The head, I could DIY it, but the gasket blew because the heater return pipe burst at ~80mph... and the engine was already quite hot. Which means its probably going to need skimming. I think £200 is a tad too much.. but Ive not idea if anyone has a better quote around my area (Bristol).. Ive gotta grab the yellow pages in a bit. The garage said a week, Monday they strip it, tuesday head is sent off, tested tuesday evening, dispatched wednesday, rebuilt thursday. and I can't really be off the road for 4 days because of work and other commitments.
I wouldnt mind spending the weekend on it to do it properly and carefully. Cheers for the mini quotes by the way :)
