3800 series II plastic intake gaskets

do these gaskets need to be installed with rtv silicone or should they be put on dry?

Everything should be clean and "dry". Only four "spots" on the "lower intake" set require rtv. If you have pitting on the aluminum surfaces I would place rtv in those areas to insure a good seal. I hope you have a book and a accurate torque wrench. The book will show you the spots that require rtv. You should be able to tell from the old gaskets where the dabs of rtv went as well. Also most of the bolts require a certain grade of thread lock.
