87 Firebird Drainage

My freind has a 87 Firebird in his drivway. They have replaced the battery numerous times. He says that when they put a new one in its not to long b4 they need a new one. His father also replaced the alternator a couple of times but it does the same thing. Now the car is dead. No battery charge at all.
