grand prix electrical problem

i have a big problem with my grand prix(3.4),as soon as i changed the alternator(a real pain on this engine)and tookj it out for a test ride a whole new slew of problems happened,the speedometer wasn't working,the electronic info center wasn't working-everything stayed at zero,the check engine light came on right away,the car was sluggish and slow too shift ,i know something happened because these probl;ems didn't exsist till after i finished working on it,all the fuses seem to be fine, i;m pretty sure i was careful enough not to cut or disturb anything while working on it,what could i have done or wghat could have happened to cause these symptoms???? thanks bob

Well Bob the thing is your car is upset over your poor capitalization, puncuation, and spelling skills.

Just kidding... :)

There ws a post not too long ago that mentioned that if you didn't disconnect your battery while changing the alternator you could get all sorts of errors. Try disconnecting the battery, letting it sit for a half hour or so, then reconnecting and see if the problems persist.
