Won't Start

What could be wrong if the car ran hot and cut off but won't start back up. Water squirts out from down by the engine below in like a mist. It sounds like it wants to start but just won't make it. No water in the oil.

What car? Year? Why don't you just hop on a bicycle, nevermind, probably too technical for you to figure out. Try walking wingnut.

The fluid in the radiator is under great pressure, thus the mist, maybe a pin-hole in the low radiator hose, and with fluid leaking out, a vapor lock which is the gas evaporating before it gets to the engine to be fired, could be the problem. Get the car to a shop and have the leak repaired. Mike De Vito

i dont know what devito's talking about! a leaky coolant system will only cause your car to overheat. there are many reasons your car may not start, a few simple things may be a fuelpump fuse or a plug wire may have come off of the primary coil. he is right about one thing, take it to a shop and have it checked out

You are correct Lappachie, but remember some of the radiator coolant runs thru the intake manifold to keep the air and fuel mixture to the cylinders cool, if this air and fuel mixture wrer to become to hot it would evaporate before getting to the cylinders and thus the car could not start, maybe you remember the old complaint------after my car is warmed up the starter turns slowly, when cool the starter is fine, in this case the starter being just under the exhaust manifold made the starter to hot to operate correctly. Those are pretty strange statements Mike.

Horse crap! A wet manifold (one where coolant is routed thru) is simply a matter of engine design choice, there are a number of engines which use dry intake manifolds where no coolant at all touches or in any way runs thru the intake manifold. Want examples? Current GM truck V-8 Ford Cleveland Chrysler B and RB engines Ford escort 1.9L

Your 'theory' needs a ton of work.
