front drive coupling 944

greetings all...

looking to purchase a 944 but have been told the front drive coupling is broken. is this an expensive fix? i know f'all about them and would appreciate any feedback and also any other info regarding common ailments.

Do you mean the clamp between the clutch and torque tube? That'd be a mess as it's likely stripped one or the other shafts. The transmission needs to be moved back, or removed, to service these parts.

she is reasonably cheap ($4k) however also spoke to a nice porsche fellow who reckoned that I was looking at 4-6 grand and then crivens knows from there.

keep saving for a 911, i must!
