Insurance Costs??

Is there a website that compares different companies & the Prius? I'm still contemplating getting it but wonder if there would be a difference between in insurance costs for the Prius & my 99 Corolla (I have Geico) & wonder if switching would be better. I haven't test driven yet, have seen quite a few around though & what I read is sounding good. Also the more I see the more I can narrow down colors I don't want, I'm leaning towards silver pine or classic silver (haven't seen seaside pearl yet), Thanks

"Better"? Depends on whether you are selling or buying.

Insurance for a Prius will certainly be more expensive because most any used Prius will cost more to replace than most any 1999 Corolla.

The only way to know the answer is to call your insurance agent and ask. Your insurance agent is a salesman, salesmen *like* to be called to answer questions.

Forgot exactly what they call it but there is a "grade" the insurance industry assigns to cars. Higher the grade the more they charge. Maybe your agent will tell you where your Corolla weighs in and where a Prius weighs in.

I didn't find that my Prius was free to insure, but its essentially the same as any other car I was considering.

go to GEICOs site

formatting link
and get an on-line quote. Plug in info on both the Prius and current vehicle. You can do this at any of the large co sites. SF, Allstate, etc
