No 1.4 Honda engine ever went into a Rover. The earlier 1.6 was a Honda for the 200/400 though. When they went 25/45 Rover upped the K-series to 1.6 and 1.8 and used their own engine instead of Honda.

I remember about 10/12 years ago I went to view a Rover 1600cc and it was the oily rover/british engine. I don't remember which model it was though.

Did rover ever put a 1300cc honda engine in the rover at any time? I have seen 2 different engines in the rovers over the years

1991-1993 then? That would still be Honda engines, 1.6 K-series wasn't designed then, and the 1.6 O-series was never used in any of the 200/400 series of that year.

I was under the impression, the 1300 from the older 200 series (the stupid shape, the first shape) were Rover A-series.

| The first 200's (pre 89 saloon) has 1300 honda engines (12v) and 1600 rover | engines ( o series 8v). The mk2 rover 200 and mk 1 400 had 1.4 k series | engines (rover) and 1.6 D16 honda engines in both 16v single cam and 16v | twin cam versions. If the engine has PGM-Fi on it its a honda engine.. After | about 1996 the honda engine was replaced by the 1.6 k series, but the auto | was still the honda engine ( for a while ). hope that clears it up.

There ya go! - Someone who knows!
