Metro wipers.. strange

On my Metro, when I use the wipers, the water drips down in the middle, and I have to keep using the wipers to clear the drip to prevent a mark when it dries.

Is this normal, poor design, or are the wipers the wrong size..

1) live with it, 2) don't use as much water 3) leave the wipers on longer, 4) change the car
