900 turn signal latch

What part do I need to fix the turn signal latching on an '88 900? Someone mentioned the procedure before but nobody ever told me what part is needed. I found the switch online but it's very pricey, do I have to replace the whole switch?

You might want to look for an old switch at a junkyard. Alternatively you could just take your switch apart, find the particular part that is broken, and replace that from a junkyard. Talk to your local Saab expert- he or she might be able to suggest a good place to get used parts. The switch is trivial to remove once you get the lower dash off. I just had mine off today, testing the cruise control switch...

I fixed it today, took the switch apart and found that the aluminum casting was worn where the little roller rolls into the detents to hold it latched, had to drill out the rivets to take the switch apart, used a Dremel tool to machine out deeper detents, then greased it all back up, drilled some holes where the rivets were and put self tapping screws in to hold it back together, works great.

Now to find the source of water on the carpet and fix the electric seatbelt until I can find some good manual belts to install.
