99 Question

Hi all,

I have a question about a parts availability. I own a 1975 99GL, and the former owner installed a block heater that I have no need for in my part of the country, and has since been removed. Now I have a very small water leak problem. In a nutshell they installed the block heater hose from the heater "Y" to the engine water drain plug (below the exhaust manifold) What i'm looking for is a new engine water drain plug. Any ideas where I might be able to find one of these beauties?

Thanks a bunch!!

Rich,

you could try

they deal with older Saabs (96's etc) & have a "do you need spares" link on their home page

You don't say where you are, but take a look at

. You can also probably get it at any NAPA or similar actual parts house (as opposed to bolt-on accessory store). Finally, if you have a a local shop that tends to do a lot of SAAB work, they'll probably have quite a few lying around. As a last resort, the plug isn't anything special, you may be able to find an appropriate replacement from a well-stocked plumbing shop or even HD.

A V4 99 would have been an interesting car, but, sadly, there are very few V4 parts, if any, that work with the B-series I4 engine.

lycka till! GTr
