Broken Dash Fascia

Having been really pleased to have had a classic 900 with an intact dash fascia, mine has now broken. One of the retaining lugs has snapped so the pin no longer holds the dash in place.

Has anyone come up with a suitable method for fixing this problem?

I've had good results with epoxying a washer where the lug would normally be. You usually have a bit of the lug to glue to. Once the washer is in place, you then build up the glue around it, making it nice and solid.

I thought the epoxy and washer solution was about all I could do, but someone has mentioned actually melting a heated washer into the plastic from the inside, melting model airplane sprue over the metal and then fixing with that plastic glue you get in Airfix kits. Sounds good.

What about just drilling a small screw into the bloody thing? Straight through the ash tray

Something liek the chemical plastic/metal epoxy putties might do the job. Supposedly they stick to just about anything.
