Actually, you could :-). But, if you really want it to handle better, you need to do a few things.
step 1 - 16" wheels with 215-55-16 tires. est cost $150/wheel minimum & $80/wheel min for tires. Increases handling. Some would suggest that ride comfort goes down but if you install v-rated or higher tires the increase in tire quality will offset that, IMHE.
step 2 - install Koni adjustable shocks. $550 for ft & rr shocks and $300 to install if you don't DIY. Increases ride comfort and handling. Hard to believe, but it does. I'll accept no arguments.
The next steps can be done in any combination or order.
a. install Eibach springs. Lowers car to reduce center of gravity and also stiffens springs. Increases handling but reduces ride comfort slightly. About $300, no labor if you do them with the shocks. $300 in labor if you do them later. Stiffer springs are available if you want to feel like a race car.
b. install a thicker rear anti sway bar. Flattens the car in the corners but does not generally affect ride much. Best done only with stiffer shocks and/or springs.
c. install a steering gear kit. Takes the factory supplied slop out of the steering gear mount. can be done with no other mods to the car if you like. about $100 and maybe a few hours labor.
d. install poly bushings. $50 in parts, a few hours of labor. Will increase handling at the expense of transmitting more vibration. I would consider this as the last mod I'd do.
