GM900 Back hatch frustration...

Does anyone else have the situation where the back hatch doesn't open by using the door mounted button? The remote works every time although if I wait a second or two before pulling the lid open it has the same symtom

- it's like it locks again! The key always works. Maybe this is a "feature"?

I do notice that if I hit the open button on the remote and wait probably more than 10 sec the alarm goes off... I think I read about this in the manual.

This is a 1998 900S

Thanks,

The open button on the remote always works fine, but I have noticed the problem with manual opening of the trunk, too. I think it's like this: If the doors are unlocked, you close the trunk and then lock the car. Next time everything works fine, trunk can be openend manually. But if the car is already locked and you close the trunk later, then unlock the car, the trunk will not open manually.

I don't know if it's a feature or a bug, I can live with it since I know how it works ;-)

Nothing of this is mentioned in the manual nor the dlr knows anything about it. But on the other side, my German dlr doesn't really know much about Saab, although it's a Saab dlr.

Cheers

Thanks, but I don't think my scenario is the same. I very rarely close the trunk with the car locked. It's like the mechanism is actuated differently when the door mounted switch is used. Is this mechanism in the Haynes manual?

Try this - Open the rear hatch with the drivers door open button - Don't close the drivers door and check if the hatch is open. If this allows the hatch to open t5hen try this Do it again and rapidally close the drivers door and watch the hatch - if it raies a little it is probally relocking it self. Solution:- Adjust out the hatch rubber bumper stops and try again
