Headliner Replacement: Have you actually done this?

Have you replaced your headliner?

I've read about it, but I'm looking for comments/opinions from folks who have actually done this.

Mine is a 94 900S.

Thanks,

I replaced mine on the older 900, once on each of two cars. Just make sure you have a great deal of time.

Tips:

  1. clean hands and some plastic gloves (latex or pvc, your choice)
  2. make sure you have set aside a safe place to put the shell after removal, you do not want to crack or break it.
  3. the shell is bulky, a second set of hands help.
  4. have some paper cups and a marker. as you remove the various handles, visors and lights put the screws and small parts in its own cup and lable it clearly.
  5. lower your seats for maximum clearence room in the car.

That is what i can recommend for now, I hope this helps a little.

Thank you for the tips, Jeremy.

I'm thinking that I'll remove the shell but have an upholstery place repair it; then I'll re-install it and enjoy another 179,000 miles!
