My new used SAAB

Just purchased my first SAAB yesterday $600.00 body is in pretty good condition but for a few rust holes in doors.

It is a 900 5 speed much different than the 9000 I drove a few weeks ago with automatic trans and turbo.

A small investment for a for new project.

Looking forward to learn and share information.

Great car if it's not rusting out too much, where there's some visible rust there's often much more hiding.

But which model and MY? They are different cars, I have never driven a 900 (any of them).

You should try it, the 900's are true Saabs, the 9000's are nice cars, but definitly very different, they drive nicely but they don't feel particularly "Saab-ish"

Since you use the 900 to define what a Saab is, your statement is a tautology. It is effectively saying the 900 is the closest model to the

900. Well, yup.

The 900 had a really unusual steering system. I liked it. It invited quick handling. The 9000 doesn't invite spirited driving, but when you choose to do it, it says, "sure, I can handle that fine".

They both are excellent in snow.

A nuisance impostor. Look at source; I'm not running on Apple. Notice also that follow-up was news.admin.net-abuse.email

Hmm. No starter key on the floor. But otherwise the same Saab 'cockpit' driver environment. The car feels rock stable and hence very relaxed to drive on the motorway. I also like the styling better than the 900.

The engine in my 1993 CSE 2.0 LPT 108,000 miles is still very good. always starts promptly, no flat spots, lags or hesitation. Only recent problem is the drivebelt. The belt has been renewed quite recently, but need tensioning. probably incorrectly tensioned by garage. This is difficult since I have to remove plastic shield in the front wing, but can't undo the nuts as they just rotate.
