Plus size tires

I have a 1999 9-3 base model and would like to plus size the tires to larger footprint/shorter sidewall for added performance.

OEM sizing is 195-60-15 and i would like to plus size to 205-60-15.

would i have any problems doing this? is it not worth is? comments?

i plan on getting bridgestone potenza 950RE's or Falken Ziex ZE-512. any comments on these tires, or other suggestions.

thanks, tenpercenter washington, dc

205/55R15 would be better due to near identical rolling radius

Wouldn't you want to go to 205-55-15? Keep the rolling diameter closer to normal?

Check out tirerack.com - they have sizing and interchange guides, and will list the specific tires that they suggest will work on your specific year & model of car. I'd stay within whatever the parameters they suggest are. Might be worth considering 16" rims if that's within your budget, gives you some more options.

There are tire reviews there too... I prefer Nokians, which they don't sell, so I can't comment on the Bridgestones or Falkens.

I have a 1996 NG900 2L S (non-turbo) and changed from the OEM wheels and tyres to 16" 5 spoke with 205-50 Falken tyres. This improved handling and ride quality which was not the very best on the NG900s. The replacement

9-3s like your car are a better handling vehicle.

I would agree with Brother Hinz and recommend that you go to 16" rims.

Good luck in your choice.
