[Saab_c900] Received my Heuschmid 4SN C900 body kit! Now needing documentation

Hi everyone,

During the past week the Heuschmid 4-door C900 body kit I bought from an Ebay seller also located in Australia has arrived after the courier company delivering it from Melbourne to Sydney totally fscked up their delivery and sent the parcel to their contractor's depot in Wollongong where it sat for about 2 weeks! 9-)

Anyway, it's here now and having explored some of the Heuschmid links I found through Google (also thanks to fellow SCCA member Brendan Burdon for some of the info), I'm starting to get really excited about actually fitting it to a C900 some time over the coming months.

The moulded parts are all black so they will need priming and painting to suit whatever scheme is on the target car. The carton was quite badly handled but all the moulded parts are undamaged. There is a lack of hardware and documentation, and that's being chased up with the seller and cross-referenced against original kit documentation if/when I can find some (if anyone has this scanned - please let me know!). So far though I'm not having much luck tracking down original documentation...

Two links for Heuschmid products are the original manufacturer at "

" and a section on Paul Halliday's website at "

". Does anyone have original documenation (preferably with text in English rather than German!) for these body kits? Either the real thing, or in high-quality scanned form. If I can get original, complete, paper documentation that would be great and I'd be more than happy to scan it myself so it's available for everyone to download.

Also, does anyone know what hardware is supposed to come with the kit? All the moulded pieces are in good shape but I'm sure there is a lot of hardware missing. Stainless fasteners (nuts, bolt, etc.) can probably be sourced anywhere, but any specialised parts might require some creative license to create replacements. 8-)

Regards, Craig.

Yay! Nice one Craig!

You're a great documenter, so I hope to see detailed pictures of the kit, fitting and fitted. Okay to drop some onto the "Specials" website?

A couple of shots of the body kit laid out on the ground would be good ... Sorry I can't help with the fitting, but good luck anyway. There are some instructions for fitting the on my website, but I doubt they'll be very useful for the Heuschmid. Excellent purchase, anyway!

If anyone wonder WTF this Heuschmid stuff is, have a look here (and here):

Thanks!

Yes - I'll be putting pics up in the new image galleries on my site too so you're welcome to copy them to add more content to your Saab specials pages.

That's what I'm planning too - at least with reference to some of the pics I've found I can get a good idea on the layout of the pieces and maybe get an idea from what what hardware I should have and what's missing.

I'll email you when I have the pics ready.

Craig.

I've finally (!) uploaded the pictures I took of the kit laid out on the grass in the firebreak to a new sub-gallery here:

Feel free to copy them. I've also put more pics of the 1983 turbo c900 I bought recently here:

So anyone who wants to check those out feel free to explore around in the galleries.

Cool! I'll make a link to you from my couple of Heuschmid pages. I've a lot of work to do on my website over the next few days. Did you see the picture of the 5 door that turned up for sale recently?

No I didn't see that one - looks good though! Is that car listed on Ebay somewhere? If there are more pics I'll contact the seller and ask about adding them to the Heuschmid gallery at my site too so there is a second repository for them.
