Saab depreciation in the UK

Does anyone know if there's any publically available figures on depreciation of Saabs in the UK? I know all the lease and finance companies nust use estimates for calculating their rates and GMV values. However, a reasonable amount of googling has turned up nothing.

My interest is partly to offset "buyer's regret" -I'm just about to p-ex my 9-3 for a 9-5 Aero. The Aero is only 8 months old but some

65% of the new value - I'm rather hoping that the depreciation that I suffer over the next 2~3 years is rather more bearable!

Just about any car depreciates at a ludicrous rate in the UK, a car is not an investment, just buy one you like and drive it until you feel you've gotten your money's worth of use out of it.

"Autocar" magazine has a pretty good residual value column in the new car price list at the back of the magazine.

It shows that BMW 3 series and Mercedes Benz C class have the best residual values.

In the UK if you want "better" residuals buy a German Turbo Diesel. You'll pay more than you'll save but you'll get better residuals.

Best to think of cars as consumables (like underwear, but less sexy)

New Saabs especially the 9.5 are very heavily discounted in the UK (pre registered etc.) So in calculating depreciation you have to take a realistic purchasing price into account. Like many other cars in their class Saabs are a specialist car and do have high depreciation in their first few years.
