Saab Security light on dashboard

Just bought the car and I am concerned about the security light. Is it suppose to be constantly blicking even while all the doors are unlocked?

Thanks

If the security system is on, yes. Open one of the doors. The alarm should go off. Saab's automatic door locker tends to be quirky. The security light will go on if you lock the driver or passenger side door with the key fob or the key, but the locks may not lock. If the car's battery was recently replaced, you may need to reactivate the keyfob. Hold the keyfob next to the driver's door lock and click it on and off rapidly five times. That sometimes fixes it.

If it's a 9-3 then yes. It does double flashes if the car is unlocked, and continuous flashes if it's locked.

It comes in handy if you're peering out of the bedroom window to see if you've remembered to lock the car at night - If you can't see the light it's because it's behind a wiper or something, rather than just not flashing.
