Strange locking/unlocking behavior on my 9-5

99 9-5 SE, Manual Transmission, 2.3T

I've had this problem for a while, started after I told the Saab guys to program the locking system to automatically lock all of the doors when I start driving and to have the remote unlock all when I push the button (instead of two button pushes for all)

Anyway, the first time I saw this when:

1: open the trunk (either with remote or with the button on the door) 2: drive the car to the point where the doors would lock automatically 3: stop, close the trunk

Now, start driving and when the doors lock, the trunk unlocks and opens. Stop, close the trunk, drive and it does the same thing. The only way to "clear" this was to close the trunk, open the trunk using.

I've since found a number of cases where this happens, for example

1: get out of the car, open the trunk 2: lock the doors with the remote 3: close the trunk 4: open the doors to get in

drive away and the trunk opens. Same way to clear, etc.

The dealer told me that this must be a malfunctioning (I forget the name) but computer system that controls the central locking system and that it shoudl be replaced. I can live with this for the price that they quoted me. But this smells of a firmware BUG that could probably impact lots of others. I can't see how some kind of computer failure would only impact this tiny little area, something else would have to be going wrong.

Anyway, anyone else who has the same setup as me (ie: doors lock when car moving, all doors open from remote on a single button) ever seen this one?

I have a similar setup - but on a 9-5SE Auto. It is set up so that doors automatically lock at 10kmph. One push on the remote unlock button unlocks all doors. Also, one push on the remote lock button locks all the doors, while a second push within a few secs deadlocks all the doors.

My system works as it should (I think). Several times I have driven off with the boot unlocked, didn't notice the lamp alarm on the dash until after the doors had locked. Stopped, hit the unlock button on the console, got out, slammed the boot, drove off, and the doors locked again at 10kmph and the boot stayed locked.

I do have one other "funny" though. I have the Recirculate button set on all the time as a default, as I mostly drive in the city. If I stop the car, turn off the engine, race into the deli for a few minutes, then come back and start the car again, the recirculate button is off. However, if I leave the car turned off for several hours, when I turn it on again, the recirculate button is on as it should be. Saab mechanics verified this but couldn't fix it.
