2000-2002 SL model differences?

Hi Group-

New to the NG, I'm a former '94 SL2 owner who's looking to rejoin the Saturn family. Due to finances (and an impending new addition to the family) I'm looking to get an SL1 or SL2 in the 2000-2002 year range. Are there any significant feature/spec changes to the SL line in those years to help influence a decision? Beyond the obvious car condition, mileage, etc. From what I recall the SLs remained fairly the same after the re-design in the late '90s. But any assistance you can provide is much appreciated. Luckily my local dealership seems to always have a good number of 2000 -2002 SL's in supply, so I don't mind waiting a bit to get the best fit for the $$$.

TIA!

Not alot of differences in the model yr '00 to '02, but then again...

'01 marked many minor changes to the S model year, especially the SC models. Engine wise, many subtle changes to all S models too.

Different headlights, more sporty facia. New alloy rim designs. Emission systems on '01 and '02 had an air pump to clean emissions upon starting car. Radio design changes, ( fyi, '02 was last yr for cassettes). Black painted valve covers for Twin cam engines. New dash design and new interior materials. Valet lockout switch and emergency trunk release. More restrictive air intale design (to help improve sound and mileage).

I'm sure I missed something, but thats basically it. One suggestion, IMHO, '02 is the year to go with. Google for Alldata + service bulletins + (yr. & car model) and you will see that because '01 was a new design there were much more bulletins on the '01 models than on the '02s.
