Help! Electrical problem with 94 sl2

The battery is new(replaced a few months ago The alternator was replaced a few months ago as well

But since the new alternator was put in I am having the follwoing problems

The alternator seems to not charging the batter. Earleir the battery will get charged while driving and "all is well". But sometimes the battery does not get charged and eventually , while driving, I start hearing static on the radio especially when braking, other electrical things start to actup like turn signals not working. Also, starngely The car is very slow when acceleratiing from a stop light though it works fine in reverse. Of course at this time I know that If I turn off the car it won't start due to low battery nd I have to charge the battery again.

During the time it was running fine I had the battery and alternator tested at a autoparts store and both tested fine.

any insights please?

Your alternator sounds like it died or there is a loose or very dirty connection.

I was thinking the same thing. On my Ford (what a piece o'crap car that was!), the alternator died. Put in one (rebuilt) from local auto parts store.

Couple of days later the battery was dead again (it was new as well). I gave up and took it to the dealer. They put on a Ford alternator to the tune of $450 (inc. labor). Said rebuilt was bad. So I haul the rebuilt back to the parts store and they said 'Tuff. No refunds on electrcial items" while smugly pointing at the sign on the wall.

To say I blew up was mild. I whipped out the Ford repair invoice and went after the manager. He refunded the money on the rebuilt. I think once I got done with him he had wished he had called in sick.

Seems somewhere in the life of a Saturn it'll need a few batteries and an alternator, imo.

But what did they "fix" for the $50 and how long did it take them to do it? You do not say. Seems to me they should have done the "fix" for free.

They replaced the whole unit , they kept it overnight, If I had brought it in sooner I may not have paid the "warrenty adjustment" becuase this had been going on for a while I was just too busy to bring it in sooner, so I must accept some blame in that. I have no compliants I always had good experiences with this place. When I attempted to paid the to $50, my credit card was delcined but the owner let me take my car and paid him later even though there's a big sign behind the counter that says "Absolutely no credit". Of course $50 is no loss but I paid him later anyway.
