My daughter was on the interstate and her car would not go into gear. The clutch felt fine and you could move the shifter through the gears but it would not engage. Could this be a linkage problem? If it is the clutch would it be stuck in gear and not freewheeling? HELP!

check the cables - make sure that they are attached to the tranny, both the ends on the shift tower, and the ends of the cable housings to the case.
