It appears that I may have run into a burned valve in my Studebaker experience.
Lately, the T-Cab has been running worse than it ever has, missing on at least two cylinders. Did a compression test (dry) and all cylinders have at least 120 lbs except for #8 which has 30. Squirted a copious amount of oil in that hole and no change.
I'll be pulling the intake tomorrow (going to change over to a two barrel carb anyway) and take a closer look at #8. Since I have two rebuilt heads stashed, I may just change 'em out for a quick repair.
The other cylinder that is dead is #5 but it has about 130 psi. I suspect a vacuum leak from the power brakes which is tapped off that side of the intake. I'm going to switch the brake hose to the base of a two barrel so that any vacuum leak is at least distributed evenly.
I guess that the remainder of the week is planned out for me...
