Delivery date would be the kicker. The "prototype" from the New York Auto Show was purchased by an English spy novelist, Ian something-or-other, reputedly off the showroom floor.

Hi I think that was Ian Fleeming he wrote all the James Bond books I think the Avanti was exported to England.
