I guess you didn't see the big brown letters saying "$500 Reserve" in the listing.

It sounds like you are surprised. He has "$500 RESERVE" in a large font in his listing and he also mentions the $500 reserve in his answer to a question at the end of the listing. It looks like a decent car, but he is a Ford guy that probably just wants to get rid of it.

That's been on Ebay several times. It's a rerun.

Damn, Mostly likely it's going to cost 3 times that to get back to MD with the gas prices today. $2000 into a car the needs a interior and detailing, good thing you know a guy that sell interiors and like doing engine detailing.

What got your bid... the "brand new 1995 paint job"?

the state, near the Idaho line, IIRC. Not far from the famous hill that was the true inspiration for the story in the song, "Hot Rod Lincoln".

That's actually a good-looking Daytona for the dollar value. If you get it for that price, you done good.

Gord, IIRC, the "grapevine" is on I-5 North of LA, going up over the mountains towards Sacramento (?) and since The hot rod Lincoln, left San Pedro and that is near LA too.

Right, Jim.

I know that's the location of the Grapevine. There was a story years ago, though, in a Rod & Custom magazine, IIRC, about Charlie Ryan and his car. Charlie was the musician who wrote the tune, and he did in fact own a Model A on a Lincoln Zephyr frame. He said that the road trip that inspired the song did in fact happen on the hill near the Idaho-Washington line. He made some alterations to the story for artistic licence, if you will.
