correct color for 1960 Hawk dash pad

I am fitting a new interior from Phantom Autos. The interior will be correct(?) metalic blue with darker blue cloth inserts. Head lining will be white.

I hace selected black for the dash pad and will paint the sun visors to match the head lining. Is that correct or should I have a blue dash pad?.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

According to my parts book there were 4 color dash pads for the 60 Hawk. Part # 1334322x1- Black 1334322x2- Blue 1334322x3- Green 1334322x4- Brown Mine is sudan baige and has the brown dash pad. I think yours should be blue, but thats a matter of personal preference.

thanks Jeff, my 1st preference was for blue butit was made up in black & I did not want to rock the boat as it had already been shipped to Australia. What does the book say about the sun visors?.

I have had/worked on (3) 1960 Hawks... These were unmolested originals. A Blue one with light Blue headliner and matching Blue visors. The dash is Blue w/ Blue dashpad (all Blue is non-metallic) It also has a blue steering column and wheel. A Black one with Red Interior and matching Red Visors. Red Dash w/black dashpad... The steering column and wheel were black A local friend has a White '60 with a blue interior. I photographed it before it was restored (about 1985)- as he was thinking of selling it. It was also original. The seats were blue (non met) with blue cloth inserts. The dash is blue with a black dashpad. It had a black steering column and wheel

I can't recall with any accuracy any others I have seen or photographed....

Brown, Red and tan. My visors match the headliner which is tan, and the dash pad is a much darker brown. There is not a listing in the book for white visors, so none will match your headliner. I can't find any colors for the headliner, but I doubt if white was one of them.

available till 1961. However... Studes shipped overseas often had items produced by local suppliers.. that were not standard for Domestic production.

thanks everyone, your replies are appreciated. my car is an ex Texas & Arizona car. It has been fitted with an R2 engine from a 63 GT, 4 speed Borg Warner & Dana 44 diff as well as sway bars etc so it is a modified car. It appears that the metalic blue may be from a 61 but as I prefer the color and am fitting bucket seats I am not concerned by origionality too much. I was more oncerned that the black dash pad may appear out of character but it seems that it will be fine. Glare onto the screen was also an issue here in Australias bright sunlight.
